You can find us at House 434 in the village of Ukhura, which is over in the Baramboi area of Hajo. We’re out in the Kamrup district, a bit away from the main rush of Guwahati city. We do engineering and construction work, which keeps us pretty busy most of the year. The office is just a regular house where we keep our files and meet up in the morning before heading out to whatever site we’re working on that week. It’s a local operation, and most of the people who work with us live right here in the village or nearby. We don't use any fancy language to talk about our work. We just build stuff and try to make sure the engineering side of things is handled correctly so nothing falls down. Sometimes the roads out here make it tough to get heavy equipment in and out, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We’ve been around for a while now, just quietly doing our thing. It’s not a glamorous job, especially when you’re out in the heat or the rain all day, but it’s what we know how to do. We don’t have any big slogans or goals. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families at the end of the day. It is a simple life and we are happy to keep working in this part of Assam.
