If you travel down to Dibrugarh and head towards the Khagori Maijan area, you’ll find us. Rioza Footwear (OPC) Private Limited is located at Binanda Baruah’s place, not too far from the Phukonarkhat post office. We are in the business of making shoes, which is quite important around here because it rains so much. The ground stays muddy for a lot of the year, so everyone needs good footwear. Our workshop isn't a massive factory with assembly lines. It’s more of a local operation where we do a lot of things by hand. The smell of rubber and glue is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We aren't in a big industrial park; we are right here in the local neighborhood, tucked away in the Rahmoria police station jurisdiction. It can be a bit hard to find us if the rains have washed out the local landmarks, but just ask anyone in Khagori Maijan and they’ll point you the right way. We spend our days cutting, sewing, and sticking things together. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s practical. We don't have a fancy showroom. We just make the shoes and get them ready for whoever is buying them. It’s a small, one-person company setup that keeps us busy from morning till evening, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants something new. We just keep working on the soles and the stitches until the day is done.
