Nandians Welfare Association

Nandians Welfare Association operates out of a space in No. 2 Birkuchi, Guwahati. We are located at Gopal Roy’s place in the Kamrup district of Assam. It’s a pretty standard neighborhood setup here. We don't have a big glass building or a receptionist sitting at the front. It’s just a basic room where we sit down and figure out what needs to be handled for the day. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out or work by the window light. It’s all part of the experience of working in this part of Guwahati. We’re local people through and through. Most of us grew up around here, so we have a good sense of the community. The office is often a bit cluttered with boxes and supplies, especially when we’re in the middle of a project. We don't try to hide the mess because it shows we are actually doing something. It’s not always perfectly organized, and we sometimes lose track of a stapler or a specific notebook, but we eventually find what we need. We’re not here to give a sales pitch or look like a giant corporation. We are just a group of people in Birkuchi trying to stay busy with the work of our association. It’s honest, it’s local, and it keeps us grounded in the reality of our neighborhood. We take things one step at a time and just keep going.
