Milijuli Foundation

We are set up at Kabila Begum’s place in Lachit Bagh. If you walk down Hazarika Path or Kanaklata Path, you’ll find where we are. Milijuli Foundation is just a small group of us trying to make the neighborhood a bit better. We aren't some big charity with lots of money. We use what we have. Most of our meetings happen over tea in the living room. We look at what is happening on our street and try to help where it makes sense. Sometimes it’s about cleaning up a bit, other times it’s helping a family that is going through a rough patch. We all live right here, so we see everything that goes on. We don't use big words or have long meetings about strategy. We just see a problem and try to fix it. It’s a very local thing. People know us by name, not by some title. We think that’s the best way to do things. It keeps us honest and keeps us close to the people we are trying to help. Lachit Bagh is a close-knit place, and we just want to keep that spirit alive. We don't need any awards. Just knowing we helped someone get through the day is plenty for us. We are just part of the community, trying to do our bit. There is always something small that needs attention, and we are happy to be the ones to take care of it.
