Jmaa Padmakshi Foundation

We are located at House Number 1, Sudha Niwas, which is on Vivekanand Path in Ulubari. Even though the address says Sibsagar, we are right here in the Ulubari area of Guwahati. This foundation is a small group of us who wanted to do something for the neighborhood. We are not a large organization with a lot of money. Most of our work is just checking in on people and seeing where we can lend a hand. Living in Guwahati can be fast and loud, so we try to provide a bit of steady support for those who need it. We meet at the house and talk about what’s happening in the local streets. Sometimes we help with small community projects or just provide some advice to people who are struggling. It's not a formal thing where you need an appointment. If the gate is open, you can usually find someone to talk to. We have been in this area for a while, and we care about what happens to the people here. We don't have a fancy mission statement or any of that. We just think that if you live somewhere, you should try to make it a little better for everyone. It’s hard work sometimes, and we don’t always get it right, but we keep trying. The humidity in the summer can be a lot, but we just stay in the shade and keep working. It’s a simple life.
