Our small office is located at House No 5 on R.G.B. Road, right near the Zoo Road area. We’ve been set up here in Guwahati 21 for some time, looking at what's happening with the local environment. It's an old house, but it serves us well for the work we do. Most of us here grew up in the city and we noticed how the climate is changing, with the heat getting worse every year. We don't have any big fancy equipment, just some desks and a lot of books and notes scattered around. We spend a lot of time talking about trees and how to keep the city a bit cooler for everyone. People from the neighborhood often drop by to ask about planting stuff or how to deal with the waste in the streets. We don't have any big speeches to give. It’s more about small steps. Some days it’s just about organizing a local cleanup or talking to the school kids down the street. It gets a bit noisy with all the traffic on R.G.B. Road, but you get used to it after a while. We aren't a big government body or a huge NGO. It's just a group of us who care about where we live. If you walk past Zoo Road, you might see our small sign. We keep our door open most of the time. It’s a bit messy inside with all the papers and maps, but that’s just how we work.
