Brahmaputra Agro Trading Llp

Being in Ganeshguri, Guwahati, is a bit different from being out in the rural fields. Our office for Brahmaputra Agro Trading is right on G S Road, opposite the Canara Bank building. It is a very crowded part of the city, near the Survey of India office. There is always traffic noise and people rushing past, which is a big change from where the crops are actually grown. We spend most of our time on the phone or talking to traders who come through. It is a lot of coordination. We have to keep track of what is coming in from the countryside and where it needs to go next in Kamrup or beyond. The building is old but it works for what we need. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some maps and maybe a calendar. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, so the fan is always running. We are just a small team trying to bridge the gap between the farmers and the city markets. It involves a lot of waiting for trucks that get stuck in traffic or dealing with paperwork that seems to never end. We chose this spot because it is central, even if the parking is a nightmare. It is just regular business, nothing too flashy, just buying and selling what the land provides. Most of us have been in this trade for a long time now.
