Akangshya Foundation

You can find Akangshya Foundation over in Morikolong, along the Doboka Road in Nagaon. We operate out of Madhab Saikia’s place. It is a location that is easy enough to get to if you are coming from the main part of town. We are a small group and we do not really go in for the whole corporate vibe. The office is simple, with just enough chairs for everyone and a couple of old desks we have had for years. Nagaon is a place where everyone knows everyone, so we try to keep our reputation solid by just being honest. We do not have any big mission statements or slogans written on the walls. We just know what we need to do each day and we try to get it done. Sometimes we get distracted by the local news or someone stopping by for a long chat, but that is just life here. We are not trying to be anything we are not. We are just locals who wanted to start something to help out with things we saw around us. The road outside can be quite dusty during the dry season, and the monsoon brings its own set of challenges, but we stay open regardless. We do not have a big team of writers making us sound perfect. This is just us, sitting in an office in Morikolong, doing our best with what we have. It is plain, simple work that hopefully makes a bit of difference to our neighbors.
