Rupantar Welfare Foundation

You can find us over at B-9/194 in Kalyani. It is a quiet spot in the Nadia district, and we have been operating out of this location for a while now. Rupantar Welfare Foundation is not a big, flashy organization with hundreds of employees. In fact, it is just a handful of us who care about what happens in our town. We use a couple of rooms that we’ve set up with basic desks and some old chairs. It is a bit cramped when we have visitors, but we make it work. Most of our day is spent talking to people who live nearby or handling paperwork for local projects. We don't have a corporate structure or fancy titles. Everyone just pitches in where they can. If the floor needs sweeping, one of us does it. If a neighbor needs help understanding a form, we sit down and go through it with them. We try to keep our costs low so that whatever resources we have can go directly to the people who need them. It is honest work, and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. Sometimes we get overwhelmed, and things get a bit disorganized, but we always find a way to get back on track. We are just local residents trying to contribute something positive to Kalyani and the surrounding areas without any big fuss or complicated plans.
