Krishnanagar Academy

Raja Road is one of those busy streets in Krishnanagar where there’s always something happening. Our academy is right there, so we are part of the daily bustle of the town. You hear the rickshaws and the people talking outside the windows while we are trying to conduct classes. It’s an old-fashioned kind of building, nothing too modern, but it does the job. We have students coming in from different parts of the district, and the mornings are always a bit chaotic at the entrance. The staff works hard to keep things organized, though it’s never perfect. We have our fair share of chipped paint and squeaky doors. Our main focus is just on the lessons and making sure the students are actually learning what’s in the books. During the hot months, the classrooms can get pretty warm, so we try to keep the windows open for whatever breeze comes through from the street. It’s a very practical environment. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles or expensive extracurricular equipment. We just provide a place for kids to sit down and study. The teachers are mostly local people who have been around Krishnanagar for a long time. It’s a simple school for families who want a straightforward education for their children. By the time the afternoon comes, the street gets even busier as the school day ends.
