Our place is Shop No. 4 in Swastik Bhavan. We are right across from the Dussehra Maidan, which is a big open space in Sector 10 A Market on Khandsa Road. It is a busy area, especially when there is an event happening at the Maidan. The traffic on Khandsa Road can be a real headache in the evenings, so we usually try to get our deliveries out early in the day. The shop itself is packed with stock. We have boxes stacked almost to the ceiling in the back room. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, but we know where everything is kept. The floor is concrete and stays pretty cool even when it is hot outside. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in looking for specific items. It’s a trading business, so it’s all about moving stuff from one place to another. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a practical workspace where we can get things sorted. My desk is usually covered in papers and receipts. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, so we just sit out front on the steps and watch the cars go by until it comes back on. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep things moving as best as we can every single day.
