Samrth Clinic

Our clinic is located out in Shahapur, which is part of the Thane district. It’s a small, modest place because we are mostly serving the people who live in and around the village areas nearby. We don’t have any of those high-tech machines you might find in a big city hospital in Mumbai. Instead, we have a simple room with a desk, some basic medical supplies, and a wooden bench where people sit while they wait their turn. It gets pretty warm in the summer months, so we keep the ceiling fan going all day long, though it doesn't always do much. Most of the people who come to see us are farmers or local workers who have been coming here for years. We know their families and their histories, which makes the work feel a lot more personal. We handle things like coughs, minor cuts, and general checkups. If someone needs something more complicated, they usually have to take the bus or a train further into the district. The clinic is right near the post office area, so it’s easy for folks to find when they come into town for their errands. We don’t have a big sign or any advertisements; people just know we are here when they need us. It’s a quiet way of life and we’ve been part of this community for a long time now. We just open up in the morning and stay until the last person is seen by the doctor.
