Laghu Udiyog (Agarbatti)

We run Laghu Udiyog from Sai Shivganga Apartment. Our main thing here is making agarbatti. Because of what we do, the whole area around our space usually smells like incense, which I suppose is better than most other industrial smells. It is a small-scale operation, just like the name says. We don't have a big factory or hundreds of workers. It is just a handful of us working together in a pretty straightforward way. Most of our day is spent handling the raw materials and making sure the sticks are drying properly. It can be a dusty job sometimes, and our clothes usually end up smelling like the different scents we use by the time we head home. We have been at Sai Shivganga Apartment for a while, and the neighbors have mostly gotten used to us being there. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist. If someone needs to talk to us, they just come to the door and we stop what we are doing for a minute. It’s a quiet kind of life, focused on production rather than meetings or paperwork. We don't spend money on big advertisements or anything like that. We just focus on making the products and getting them out to whoever needs them. It is honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We just take things one day at a time here, making sure each batch is done right.
