Our workshop is out in Asangaon, specifically at Plot 32/33 in the Saral Gram Udyog area. It’s right opposite the Diamond Retreat place. Being in a gala means we have neighbors on both sides, so there is always the sound of someone welding or cutting something nearby. We have two units here, Gala 1 and 11, and we’re usually running between them both to check on how things are moving along. It’s a bit of a trek for some people to get out here, but it’s a good spot for engineering work because we have the space we need. We mostly do basic fabrication and machining for different industries. The floors stay dusty because of all the metal filings, but we try to sweep up every evening before we head home for the day. The staff here mostly comes from the nearby villages or they take the train to Asangaon station and then a rickshaw to the site. We don't have a big corporate structure or managers in suits walking around. It’s just us in our work clothes making sure the machines are calibrated right. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but we always catch up on the work by staying a little late. We just do our jobs, eat our lunch together in the shade of the building, and try to make sure every piece we finish is done properly. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on for everyone involved here at the shop. We like the quiet out here.
