We work out of Swastik Hospital, which is situated on Agra Road in Kalyan. Specifically, we are right at Ganpati Chowk, which is a major landmark in this part of town. Kalyan is always busy, and Agra Road is one of the main veins where traffic is constant. The hospital itself is a hub of activity. It is not a quiet or secluded place. There are always people coming in and out, and the sounds of the street are never far away. The practice of Deepak P Telavane is based here in this functional environment where the focus is on getting through the day’s appointments. We see all kinds of people from all over Kalyan and the nearby villages. Since we are at the chowk, it is quite easy for people to give directions to their families. The building has been there for years and is well-known to anyone who lives nearby. It is a practical setup. There is no polished corporate lobby here. It is just a hospital where work gets done. My day is spent seeing patients and handling the usual clinical tasks. It can get a bit chaotic during the peak hours when the chowk is full of vehicles. But that is just the reality of working in such a central part of Kalyan. We are here to provide a local service to the community in a straightforward, no-nonsense way that people in Kalyan have come to expect.
