Agrawal Bangle

Our place is tucked away in the Vepari Jin Compound, right behind the Bank of India. It isn’t the easiest spot to find if you aren’t looking for it, but we like it that way. The compound has a lot of history and other businesses doing their own thing. At Agrawal Bangle, we spend our time surrounded by boxes and boxes of bangles. There’s a specific sound they make when they clink together that you just get used to after a while. We aren't a big showroom with bright spotlights. It’s more of a warehouse feel where things are stacked up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of time sorting through colors and checking for any cracks or chips. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights to find what a customer wants. It’s not a polished operation, but we know where everything is kept. The humidity can be a bit much in the summer since we are in an older building, but we have a couple of fans that help. We usually have lunch together in the back room while listening to the radio. It’s a simple life. We sell bangles to whoever comes through the compound gates. We don't try to be anything we aren't, just a local spot doing our job every day. There is always work to be done here.
