We are situated at 737 in Rakanpur, along the Sola-Santej Road. It’s a bit of a drive out from the main city, so it’s quieter here than in the center of Ahmedabad. The lab itself is a very functional building. We have a lot of glass equipment, stainless steel tables, and various instruments that we use for our daily work. It feels very different from a regular office because of the specific smells of a laboratory and the requirement to keep everything very tidy. We wear lab coats most of the time, which can get a bit stuffy in the summer months. The road outside has been getting busier lately as more buildings go up around Rakanpur. We’ve been here since before the area really started developing. Our days are spent mostly looking at samples and recording data in logbooks. It’s precise work, so we don't talk as much as people might in other jobs. We have a small break area where we sit and eat lunch, usually talking about normal stuff like the weather or local news. The Sola-Santej Road is our main link to the rest of the world. Sometimes the power flutters, but we have backups for the important machines. It’s just a steady, quiet place where we do our technical tasks without much fuss. We've become a familiar part of this industrial stretch over the years and we just keep doing our thing.
