Nihir Plastic Industries

Our place is located at 809 in the Kothari Estate, right by the Kothari Char Rasta in Santej. It’s a part of the Kalol taluka, which is a busy industrial area in the Gandhinagar district. Here at Nihir Plastic Industries, we spend most of our time around the molding machines and piles of raw plastic material. The smell of melting plastic is something you just get used to after a couple of days. We aren't a big corporate entity with a lobby; we’re more of a hands-on workshop. The floor is usually covered in some kind of dust or scraps, but that’s because we’re actually working. Our crew is mostly from the surrounding villages. We’ve got a rhythm going where everyone knows which machine needs attention. It’s not always quiet, but it’s productive. Being near the Char Rasta makes it convenient for trucks to come and go with the supplies we need. We don’t have a lot of meetings or long lunches. We just grab a chai and get back to the machines. The weather in Gujarat can be tough on the equipment, so we spend a lot of time on maintenance. It’s just how we do things here. We’ve been in Santej for a while and have seen the estate grow. It’s a decent spot for a factory like ours. No frills, just steady work throughout the week without making things too complicated. We just produce the plastic parts needed.
