Leo Polymers

If you find yourself in the Rakanpur area of Kalol, you’ll likely pass by our place at Block No. 767. Leo Polymers has been operating out of this part of Gandhinagar for a while now. It’s an industrial zone, so it’s mostly just warehouses and factories like ours. We work with plastics, which is a lot more complicated than it looks when you see the final product. The machines run pretty much all day, and there’s always that specific smell of melting polymer in the air. It’s not something you get used to, but it’s part of the job. We have a small crew here, mostly locals from nearby villages who know how to handle the equipment. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine breaks down, and we have to spend the afternoon fixing things instead of making them. That’s just life in an industrial estate. We don’t really do anything flashy. We just make the parts people ask for and try to keep the quality decent so they come back. Rakanpur is a quiet place except for the trucks. It’s a good spot for us because we’re close enough to the main roads but out of the way of the city mess. We eat our lunch together in the small break area and then get back to the floor. It’s a steady rhythm of work that keeps us going year after year. We just focus on the bins and the production lines and hope the monsoon doesn't flood the loading dock.
