Amul Insecticides Pvt. Ltd.

We are over here at Plot No. 1B/112 in the GIDC Estate in Kalol. It’s a busy place with a lot of factories around us. The heat in Gandhinagar gets pretty bad in the summer, but we keep the fans going in the shed. People know us as Amul Insecticides Pvt. Ltd., and we’ve been working out of these plots like 112/5 and 113/4 for quite some time now. You can usually find a few of us by the main gate in the mornings when the trucks arrive. There’s always some paperwork to do and the chemical smell is just something you get used to after a week. We don’t have any fancy office space with carpets, just plain desks and a lot of storage for the product. The floors are concrete and they get dusty because of all the movement. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It is a simple setup here in Kalol. We have our neighbors in the other plots and everyone mostly keeps to themselves. We spend the day mixing and packing. It is regular work, nothing too exciting, but it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Most of the staff comes from nearby villages. We just try to get the orders ready and loaded onto the tempos without making too much of a mess. It takes time to get things right and we just take it day by day.
