Shah Dimond Polishing

You can find our workshop at Shop No. 1226 in Phase-1 of the GIDC. It is a small place dedicated entirely to diamond polishing. The work we do requires a lot of patience and steady hands. It isn't the kind of job you can rush. We have rows of benches with workers hunched over their wheels, focusing on the stones. It gets quite warm in here with all the machinery running, but we have some fans to keep the air moving. This isn't a showroom where you come to buy jewelry; it’s a factory floor where the raw work happens. We take the rough stones and try to give them some shine. There is a lot of noise from the grinding wheels, so it’s hard to have a conversation while the work is going on. We have been in this same spot for quite a while now. Most of the people working here have been doing this since they were young. We don't have a big marketing department or fancy logos. Our reputation comes from the quality of the polish we manage to get. Sometimes a stone is tricky and takes twice as long as we expected. That's just how it goes. We work long hours, often starting early and staying late to meet deadlines. It’s hard work on the eyes and the back, but there is a certain satisfaction when a stone finally catches the light properly. We just keep our heads down and do our jobs every day.
