You can find us at Plot No. 1004 in Phase-2 of the Gidc. It’s a large industrial area, so it’s pretty crowded with buildings and warehouses everywhere you look. We do a lot of importing and exporting, which means our day is mostly about checking containers and looking over shipping documents. It’s not as exciting as it sounds to most people; it’s mostly just a lot of waiting for things to arrive or depart from the port. We have a small office space that’s usually cluttered with files, ledgers, and old coffee mugs. The warehouse part of the plot is where we keep the goods before they move on to their next destination. It’s a high-ceiling space that echoes when you walk through it alone. We don’t have a lot of staff, just a few of us who know the ropes and how to handle the complicated customs paperwork. The weather gets really stuffy inside during the afternoon heat, so we usually keep the big rolling doors open to get a bit of a breeze. Sometimes the logistics get messed up and we have to spend all night on the phone trying to track down a shipment that's been delayed. It’s a bit stressful, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the trade over time. We don’t try to be anything we’re not, just a small firm trying to keep things moving through the port and the industrial estate.
