Ratnamani Techno Casts Ltd.

At Plot No. 3310 in Phase 4 of the Gidc Estate, you’ll find us, Ratnamani Techno Casts Ltd. We do casting work, which is hot and heavy business. The furnaces get the whole place warming up, especially in the afternoons. It’s a tough environment, but we’ve been doing it for years so we don't think much of it anymore. We aren't a fancy outfit with polished floors. Our floors are usually covered in sand and metal bits. We spend our time focusing on the molds and making sure the pour goes right. If you miss a detail, the whole piece is scrap, so we try to be careful. We have a lot of long-term workers who have seen it all. We aren't much for writing big reports or having long meetings. We'd rather be out there seeing what the machines are doing. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate and we have to wait it out, sitting outside and chatting. It’s a real community here in Phase 4. We know the guys at the units next door and help each other out when someone needs a tool or a hand. We don't promise anything impossible. We just say we'll do the casting work as best as we can with the equipment we have. It’s an honest living and it keeps us out of trouble. We just keep the fires going and the molds ready for the next run.
