Om Polymers

Om Polymers is based at Plot No. 3352 in the Gidc Estate. It’s a busy spot, and the street gets pretty crowded with tempos and trucks during the day. We work with plastics, which means the smell of the machines is something you just live with. The place isn't very big, so we have to be careful about how we stack the bags of granules. If we aren't organized, you can't even walk across the floor. We’ve had a few rainy seasons where the road out front gets flooded, but we usually manage to keep the water out of the shop. It’s a family-run kind of thing, even if we aren't all related. We eat lunch together on the back steps when the weather is decent. There aren't any suits or ties around here. Most of us are in old trousers and shirts that we don't mind getting dirty. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people find us because they know someone who worked with us before. We just try to make sure the products aren't flawed and that we don't run out of stock. It’s repetitive work, watching the machines and packing the finished pieces into crates, but it keeps us moving. We’ve been at this plot for a good while and know the rhythm of the estate. It is just a regular shop where we do our best to stay on top of things.
