Metaltech Cnc Pvt. Ltd. is based at Plot No. 166 in Phase-1 of the GIDC Estate. This is a very industrial part of the city. Everything around here is metal and concrete. Inside our unit, we have the CNC machines lined up. They have a specific hum and whistle when they are cutting through steel. It’s a precision job, but the environment is still a factory. There are metal shavings on the floor despite our best efforts to sweep them up every hour. The cooling oil has a strong scent that stays on your clothes. We have a few guys who spend all day looking at the screens and adjusting the settings. It’s not a job for someone who wants to stay perfectly clean. We have an office upstairs where the noise is a bit quieter. It’s just a couple of desks and some old files. Most of our day is spent making sure the parts coming off the machines match the drawings. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most of our work comes from the other shops in the estate who know we have the machines. It gets very bright in here during the day with the overhead lights. We take our breaks together and talk about the local news. It's a regular workplace with regular people doing their best to keep the machines running and the floor clear.
