Laxmi Polymers

We are based at Plot No. 1917 in the GIDC. It’s a pretty big area and there are many similar-looking plots, so you have to look for our number on the gate. We work with polymers here. It involves a lot of heat and sometimes the smell of melting plastic is quite strong. We have been here for a good number of years. The building is nothing special, just a big rectangular space with a high ceiling to let the heat out. We have a few machines that run almost constantly. It’s a bit of a struggle to keep the place organized because we are always getting new shipments of materials. We don't have a corporate structure. It’s mostly just the owner and a few workers who know what they are doing. We eat our lunch in shifts so the machines don't have to stop. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy bags and moving crates around. We don't really do any advertising. People in the industry know us and they know where to find us in GIDC. Sometimes the rainy season makes the roads here a mess, which makes it hard for the delivery trucks. But we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a straightforward business. We make the products, we pack them, and we send them out. That’s the whole story.
