Jay Packers

Jay Packers is our small operation located at Plot No. 3234 in Phase-3 of the GIDC Estate. As the name suggests, we spend our days packing things up. It’s a lot of cardboard, tape, and plastic wrap. The warehouse can get pretty cluttered with boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We try to keep it organized, but when it’s busy, things tend to spread out. Phase-3 is a hectic place with trucks constantly backing in and out of narrow spaces. We have to be careful when we are loading. It’s a physical job, lifting and moving stuff all day long. We don’t have an HR department or a marketing manager. It’s just us and the packing tables. We have a radio playing in the background most of the time to keep the mood up. Some of us have been working here since the mill opened up this section. We know how to tape a box so it won't break open, which sounds simple but takes a bit of practice. The address is 3234, and we are usually there even on Saturdays if there is a backlog. We don’t make anything fancy, we just make sure other people’s things are ready to travel. It’s a straightforward business and it keeps us on our toes. We like the honesty of manual labor and the feeling of a full truck leaving the yard. It's just simple packing work.
