Defra Technical Textile

We operate Defra Technical Textile from Plot No. 3079 in Phase-3 of the Gidc. This isn't your usual clothing textile shop. We focus on technical fabrics, which means the machines we use are a bit more specialized. The workspace is organized around these big setups that take up most of the floor. It can get pretty hot inside when everything is running at full capacity. We have a small crew of people who know how to handle the specific requirements of technical materials. Most of us just wear our work clothes and get our hands dirty. The location in Phase-3 is convenient for getting supplies in and out. We don’t spend money on big advertisements or anything like that. The plot itself is functional—just a big building with enough space for the equipment and some storage for the raw materials. We keep a small office space for the bills and the phone, but most of the action happens out on the floor. People in the area know us as the place that handles the tougher textile jobs. We don't make a big deal out of it. We just show up, do the work, and go home. Sometimes we stay late when a big order comes in, but that’s just part of the job. The environment is practical and focused on the day-to-day tasks. It's a noisy place, but we've all grown used to it by now. We just focus on the technical side.
