Birud Paints

We are out at Plot No. 3118 in Phase-3. This part of the Gidc Estate is a bit dusty, but we don't mind much. Our clothes always have little dots of color on them, no matter how careful we are. That is what happens when you work with paint all day. We have stacks of empty tins piled up in one corner and full ones in the other. The mixers make a low whirring sound that goes on for hours. It’s almost soothing once you get used to the noise. We spend a lot of time getting the shades just right. Sometimes a customer wants something specific, and we have to play around with the pigments until it looks okay. The floor is a mosaic of every color we’ve ever made. We don't bother cleaning it too much because it just gets covered again the next day. We have a small desk near the front where we write down the orders by hand. There’s a calendar on the wall from three years ago that nobody ever changed. It’s a bit cramped when a big shipment comes in, and we have to shimmy between the pallets to get around. At the end of the day, we wash our hands with lots of soap and go home to our families. It’s a decent way to spend the time.
