Om Sai Ram Nursery

Down here in the Brahmni area of Nagpur district, things move a little slower than in the city. That’s where you’ll find Om Sai Ram Nursery. We spend our days out in the dirt, taking care of plants and making sure everything is growing like it should. It’s not a high-tech operation at all. We rely on the sun and the water and some hard work every morning. My hands are usually covered in soil by ten o'clock, which is how I like it. We have a variety of different trees and shrubs scattered around the property. It’s a lot of walking back and forth to check on the different sections. People from the nearby villages and even some from Nagpur city come out to see what we have. We don't have a big showroom or fancy catalogs. You just walk around the rows and pick out what looks healthy to you. Some seasons are busier than others, especially when the rains start and everyone wants to plant something new. We just try to keep things healthy and green. It’s a simple life out here in the district. We don't have a big office or anyone to answer phones all day. If I’m not by the gate, I’m probably at the back of the nursery tending to the saplings. It’s just me and a few helpers keeping the place going. We enjoy the quiet and the fresh air while we work. It is very peaceful.
