Sri Rama Granites

Our shop is at 5-14-29, right there at Bellary Cross Road in the Chowrastra area. It’s a very busy part of town and there is always something going on outside our doors. The traffic at the crossroad can be a real headache, especially when we are trying to back a truck into the loading area. We’ve been at 5-14-29 for a while, and the neighbors all know us by now. Sri Rama Granites isn’t a massive operation, we just have a small plot where we keep our stone slabs and the cutting tools. Most days it’s just the sound of the saws and the people shouting over the engine noise from the street. We don’t have a proper office with air conditioning or anything like that. We usually just sit on the plastic chairs near the front and wait for someone to stop by. People in Chowrastra are always moving fast, so we try to be quick when someone asks us for something. The granite comes in from the local quarries and we spend our time sorting through the colors and patterns. It’s a bit of a messy job, and our clothes usually end up looking pretty rough by the end of the shift. We don't mind it much though, it’s just the way things are. We’re just local people doing local work at a busy intersection and trying to get through the day.
