We are located in Sankarapuram, specifically at 33/75 on the Kallai Main Road. It’s right in the heart of the area, so it’s easy for anyone in Villupuram to find us. The road gets a lot of trucks and buses passing by, so it’s never really quiet outside. Inside our office, though, it’s mostly just the sound of the stapler and people chatting. We manage chit funds for the folks around here. It’s a simple setup. We have a few wooden desks and some old cabinets where we keep all the files. We don’t really believe in those fancy computer systems that break down all the time. Paper and ink work just fine for us. People come in from the surrounding villages on market days to settle their accounts. We know who is having a hard time and who is doing well. We try to be fair with everyone because we have to live with these people every day. It’s a small-town kind of business. We’ve been here long enough that people know our faces. We don’t spend money on big signs or advertisements. Word of mouth is usually enough. It’s just honest work, making sure everyone’s money is accounted for and the draws happen on time. That’s all there is to it.
