Up here in Darjeeling, things move a bit differently than they do in the big cities. Chemjong Developers Private Limited is located at the Orange Valley Tea Estate in the Bloomfield area. It is a beautiful place to be, but we are not here for the views, really. We have plenty of work to do. Our office is right there among the greenery of the estate. Being in a tea estate means the air is much better than in the city, but the logistics of getting things done can be a bit tougher. We deal with development projects in the hills. It involves a lot of understanding the terrain and the local weather patterns. You cannot just build anything anywhere you want here. We spend a lot of time talking to the local people and figuring out what actually works for the land. Our office is not some high-tech hub. It is a functional space where we keep our maps and old records. Sometimes the rain gets so heavy that we cannot get much done outside at all, so we use that time to catch up on the paperwork. We are not a big company with a hundred employees. It is just a small, dedicated group of us. We know the district very well. We do not have a marketing department. We just handle the tasks that come our way. People in the area know where to find us.
