It’s a good spot because Sevoke Road is a main path for goods coming through the region. As the name says, we focus on ginger. We spend a lot of time dealing with the logistics of moving ginger from the growers to whoever needs it, whether that’s in another part of India or somewhere else entirely. The office is really just a flat that we’ve made into a place of business. It’s not corporate at all. We have bags of ginger samples around sometimes, and the whole place has a bit of an earthy smell. We don’t have a lot of employees, just a few of us who understand how the local markets work. It’s not always easy work because fresh produce can go bad if you aren’t careful with the timing. We have to deal with weather issues and transport delays quite often. We don't have a big marketing plan or a polished image. We just know about ginger and how to get it where it needs to go. Most of our day is spent making phone calls and checking on the status of different loads.
