Over in the village of Hatgobindapur, life is pretty steady. Sabir Hossain & Co. is based here in the Nadia district. We are under the Kaliganj police station jurisdiction. It’s a rural area, so we are surrounded by fields and a lot of greenery that changes with the seasons. Our office is just a simple place where we keep our records and meet people who have business with us. It’s not very big inside, but it’s enough for what we need. Bharatpur is where the post office is, so we have to go there for anything official or to send out mail. We’ve been part of this community for quite some time now. Most people know who we are and what we do without us having to explain much. We don't use much in the way of big machines or expensive technology. A lot of our work is done by hand or with simple tools that have been around for years. The weather really dictates how our day goes. If it’s the monsoon season, things can get pretty muddy and slow on the roads around Nadia. We just take it as it comes. There is no point in rushing things in a place like Hatgobindapur. We value the relationships we have with the other folks in the village. Sometimes someone will stop by just to talk for a while. It’s a friendly place to be. We keep the business going as best we can, day by day.
