Smit Enterprise

You can find Smit Enterprise at Shed No. 3534 in the GIDC area, specifically Phase-3 in Jamnagar. It’s a big industrial zone, and our shed is just one among many. It’s a large, open space with a high tin roof. When it rains, it gets incredibly loud inside, and you can hardly hear yourself speak. We mostly do work with brass parts, like a lot of other places here in Jamnagar. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there’s a smell of cutting oil in the air. It’s a bit greasy, but that’s part of the job. We have a few lathes and some other machines that run most of the day. Our "office" is just a small cabin built into one corner of the shed. It keeps some of the dust off the paperwork, but not all of it. We keep our tools on a big pegboard and they're all pretty worn down from use. There’s a heavy sliding door at the front that we keep open for ventilation. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the GIDC, just trying to do a good job on the orders we get. We don't have bells and whistles. Just machines and good hands to keep the shed running year after year. We keep the fans going when it gets hot and the metal starts piling up.
