Sis Steel

Sis Steel is out in Taluka Kalamb, situated right on Laxmi Road. It is a bit of a drive if you are coming from the main city, but we are easy to find since we are near Shivaji Chowk and on the way to Dhoki Road. This part of District Osmanabad is mostly quiet compared to the big metros, but Laxmi Road gets its fair share of trucks and tractors. We focus on steel here. The inventory is heavy and takes up most of the space in the yard. I usually spend my time checking the weights and making sure the piles don't lean too much. It’s a bit of a dusty environment because of the open road and the dry wind we get around here. The sun hits the metal in the afternoon and makes the whole place feel quite warm. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the papers, but mostly we are on our feet. There’s a small tea stall just a few steps away where we get our morning fix. People around here are mostly farmers or local builders who need something sturdy for their projects. We don't put on any airs about what we do. It is just a straightforward steel business in a small town where everyone kind of knows everyone else. We stay busy enough with the local demand and the routine stays pretty much the same every week.
