Vedanta Aluminium Ltd

We are located out here in Lanjigarh, right in the Kalahandi district. This is where the Laxmi Narayan Mining Department of Vedanta Aluminium Ltd operates from. It's a busy place with trucks coming and going all the time. Most of us living and working here have been around these parts for years. We know the dust and the heat of the mines better than anything else. It isn't a fancy office with air conditioning in every corner. We spend a lot of our time out on the field or sitting at desks that have seen better days. The work is steady and it keeps us occupied. People around here know us as the mining guys. We don't really have a big reception area or anything. If you come by, you'll probably find us wearing boots and carrying some paperwork. It's a practical way of life. We focus on getting the ore moved and keeping the operations running as they should. Sometimes the rain makes the roads a bit of a mess, but we just deal with it. It’s just how things are in this part of Orissa. We have a few computers and some old files, but most of the real work happens outside in the dirt. We’ve grown used to the noise of the machinery. It’s home for us now, even if it’s just a mining outpost. We just keep our heads down and get the job done without making a big scene.
