Shree Shyamji Rice Mill

Shree Shyamji Rice Mill is our place on Khariar Road. We are based in Shanker Nagar, right near the Government Higher Secondary School in Pandri. It is a busy spot, especially when school lets out. We have been milling rice here for quite some time now. The building is old and shows the wear of the machines running day in and day out. It’s not a quiet job, and there is always a bit of dust in the air, but that is just how a rice mill works. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have the mill floor and a small space to keep our records. Most of the people who work here have been with us for years. We know the neighbors and they know us. Sometimes the trucks blocking the road cause a bit of a headache, but we try to move them quickly. Shanker Nagar is a good community to be in. We just focus on getting the grain processed and out the door. It is hard work, especially when the heat picks up, but we just get on with it. We don't put on any acts or try to sound like a big city company. We are just a local mill doing what we know how to do. If you walk past the school, you can usually hear the hum of our machines. That’s just us. We stay busy throughout the whole year and that is how we like it.
