Vinay Pulses

We’ve been at Plot No.79 in the Kapnoor Industrial Area for a while now. It’s dusty out here in the first phase of KIADB, but that is just how industrial zones are. My brother and I run the place. We mostly handle different kinds of pulses. The machines for cleaning and sorting can be loud, especially when we have a big load coming in from the local farms. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot over Gulbarga. We spend a lot of time checking the bags. It isn’t fancy work. You get used to the smell of raw grains and the sound of the shutters going up. Sometimes the electricity cuts out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. That’s just part of it. We know the other folks around here in the industrial area. We help each other out if a truck gets stuck or if someone needs a specific tool. It’s a straightforward setup. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledgers. The floor is usually covered in a bit of husk from the processing. We try to keep things organized so we know where everything is when the transport guys show up. It's a living. We just focus on getting the pulses ready and making sure the weights are right. Nothing much else to say about it. We have an old dog that hangs around the entrance too. It’s what we do every day.
