Shieh Dental Clinic

Shieh Dental Clinic has been sitting here on Fort Road for a good number of years now. If you walk past the old buildings, you will see our sign hanging out front. It’s not a big place, but it gets the job done for anyone with a toothache or someone needing a cleaning. Inside, there is that smell of antiseptic that most people don’t like, but to me, it just smells like work. The dental chair is one of those older models that is still really sturdy and comfortable enough for the short time people stay in it. We spend a lot of time looking at teeth and listening to the traffic outside on Fort Road. It can get pretty noisy when the buses go by, but you get used to it after a week or two. Sometimes the light in the hallway flickers, and I keep meaning to change the bulb, but then a patient walks in and I forget about it again. We keep our tools in the metal trays and make sure everything is scrubbed down after every single person leaves. It is mostly just me and a helper here during the day. We don't have a computer system for bookings, so we just write names down in a big blue diary. People around here know where to find us if they have a cavity or if a filling falls out during dinner. It is a quiet way to spend the day.
