Shantalingeshwar Cool Drinks

Shantalingeshwar Cool Drinks is situated at 25/894 on Aland Road in Maadan. It’s a busy road with a lot of trucks and buses passing by all the time, which brings a fair amount of dust into the shop. We’ve been here for years, and the shop has become a bit of a landmark for people traveling that route. We keep a variety of cool drinks in the big old refrigerators we have lined up against the back wall. The floor is made of stone and stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the asphalt outside. I usually sit near the front to catch whatever breeze comes through. It’s a simple setup with a few benches for people to sit on while they finish their drinks. We don't have any fancy menus or decorations. The walls have a few old calendars hanging on them and that’s about it. Dealing with the distributors is probably the hardest part of the job, as they don't always show up on time. When the weather gets really hot, we sell out of almost everything by mid-afternoon. We just do our best to keep the stock replenished. It’s a basic life, watching the traffic go by and serving whoever stops in. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop on Aland Road, just a reliable place where you can get a cold drink when you need one.
