Rudrawadi Hospitals

Down on Old Jewargi Road in Gulbarga, things can get pretty dusty and hot. Rudrawadi Hospitals is situated right near the P & T Quarters. It’s a familiar area for most people who live on this side of town. I usually start my shift by opening up the windows to let some air in, though sometimes the road noise is a bit much. The quarters nearby mean we have a lot of neighbors who stop by. The hospital itself is a practical building. We don’t have marble floors or glass elevators, just solid walls and rooms that do what they’re supposed to do. I spend most of my time walking back and forth between the front desk and the wards. You get used to the smell of disinfectant and the sound of the ceiling fans clicking away. It’s a local place through and through. We know the tea seller on the corner and the people at the nearby shops. There’s no corporate headquarters telling us what to do; we just manage the daily flow of patients as they come in. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of life in Gulbarga. It’s not always easy, and it’s definitely not glamorous, but we’re here on Old Jewargi Road every day, keeping the doors open for whoever needs us. It’s just our regular way of living.
