Mohan Dall Mill

Mohan Dall Mill is at 24/536 on Old Jewargi Road, right in Balaji Nagar. We have been working from this location for many years. Our business is about processing raw pulses into dal. The building is quite old and has seen better days, but the machinery inside works just fine. We have a small front yard where the farmers and traders bring their sacks. It can get a bit messy with loose grain on the ground and empty bags stacked in the corner. We don't have any air conditioning, so we just keep the big doors open for air. The noise of the grinders is something the people in Balaji Nagar are probably used to by now. It’s just a few of us running the whole operation. We don't have a computer system, so everything is written down in large ledger books with a pen. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of town, and everything just stops until it comes back on. We use that time to have some tea or sit outside. We sell our dal to the local grocery stores in the surrounding area. We don't do any big marketing or have a logo. It’s just a simple mill where we do our job every day. We know the machines well and we know how to fix them when they act up. It’s a steady, quiet kind of life for us here.
