Our setup here at the Stp Site in Gornalli B Village is a bit out of the way, right near the Lingarajappa Engineering College. It is a different vibe than being in the middle of a city. Mostly we are busy with the site work and managing the local infrastructure needs. The college is a good landmark because people often get lost trying to find us the first time. We spend a lot of time outdoors here, dealing with the ground and the equipment. It is not a desk job for most of us. We have a small office on-site where we keep the logs and schedules, but the real action is outside in the dirt. It gets hot during the day, and sometimes the rain slows us down, but we just keep pushing through. There are a lot of moving parts when you are working on an STP site, and someone always has to be on watch. We have gotten used to the quiet of the village compared to the louder parts of the region. The crew usually grabs lunch nearby or brings something from home. It is a straightforward operation. We do what needs doing, fix what breaks, and try to stay on schedule despite whatever challenges come up with the terrain or the weather. It isn't glamorous, but it is important work for the area and we take it as it comes without making much of a fuss about it.
