Uppada Pattu Sarees Shop

We are located right on the Main Road in Kothapalli, Uppada. Our shop isn't hard to miss if you're driving through the area. We deal in Uppada Pattu sarees which is what this village is famous for. It’s a small shop and we don’t have any of those fancy glass displays you see in the big city malls. We just have our sarees stacked up on the counters and we pull them out to show people. The sea breeze comes in sometimes but mostly it’s just hot and humid. We spend a lot of time talking to the weavers and making sure we have enough stock for the weekend. The main road gets quite a bit of traffic during the day. Sometimes a whole family will pile in and the shop gets really crowded. We just pull out some stools for them to sit on and have a glass of water. We’ve been here for years and we’ve seen the town change a lot. But the way we do things hasn't changed much at all. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us and the sarees. We try to be fair with everyone who walks in. Some days we sell a lot and some days we just sit and watch the cars go by. It’s a steady life and we like being part of the community here in Kothapalli.
