We are based out of 3-136/1 in Ganga Nagar. Vagalapudi is a quiet enough place most days, though we make a bit of noise with the stones. It’s a dusty business, honestly. You can’t really keep a shirt clean for long when you’re moving heavy slabs around all day. We have been here for a while and most of the locals know where the yard is. It isn't a high-tech operation. We have some basic tools and a lot of manual work involved. Every morning starts with checking what stock we have left and what needs to be moved out. The sun gets quite hot out in the open yard, so we take breaks under the shade whenever we can. Sometimes the stone arrives late from the quarry and that throws off the whole schedule, but that’s just how it goes. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the slabs are cut and ready. The road out front gets a lot of tractors passing by. We like the neighborhood, it feels like home now. People stop by to ask for prices and we just give them a straight answer. No fancy talk or anything. We just deal in stone and try to do a decent job of it. It’s hard work but it keeps us busy. We mostly just focus on the task at hand and try to get the orders loaded up before the sun goes down.
