Sri Venkateswara Hardware Stores is located at 33-1-24 on Rajaji Street. It is your typical local hardware shop, crammed from the floor to the ceiling with all sorts of supplies. We keep pipes, plumbing fittings, hand tools, and all those tiny bits and pieces that people need when something breaks at home. Rajaji Street is always moving and noisy, and we have been a part of this community for a very long time. This is a family-run business. My father was the one behind the counter before me, and I have spent most of my life learning the trade right here. The shop isn't like a big supermarket where you walk around with a cart. You usually have to ask us for what you need, and then we go find it in the back or reach for it on one of the high shelves. Sometimes the space feels a bit tight because we try to keep so much inventory in stock, but we like having what people ask for. We get a mix of professional plumbers, building contractors, and just regular homeowners who might only need a single washer or a new tap for their kitchen. We do not have a website or do any fancy advertising. People in the neighborhood just know where we are. We open the shutters every morning and stay open until late. It is a lot of talking to people and helping them.
