Our office is situated at Door No 4-2-117 in Pithapuram. We are right beside the Ambica restaurant, which is a blessing and a curse because the smell of their cooking makes us hungry all day long. We’re also quite near the Cherukula Kaaluva, so you can feel a bit of a breeze coming off the water sometimes. The office is a simple one-room setup. We’ve got a long table where we do most of our writing and a few chairs tucked against the wall for visitors. It’s a local spot where people feel comfortable just walking in without an appointment. Pithapuram is a friendly place, and our office is no different. We have a small shrine in the corner with some incense that we light every morning before we start. Most of our day is spent handling the chit collections and updating the passbooks for the people who live nearby. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been working together for a long time. The floor is tile and easy to sweep, which is good because people bring in a lot of sand from the street. We don't have a computer that works half the time, so we rely on our pens and paper ledgers. It’s a practical way to run things, and it keeps us close to the people we serve. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when things are slow, just watching the traffic go by.
