Our office is located at 16-12-71/C on Hospital Road in Peddapuram. As you can guess from the name of the street, there are quite a few clinics and medical shops around us. It is a busy part of the East Godavari district. We are right in the middle of the local traffic. The building we are in is easy to find. Inside, it is just a normal office where we do our daily work. We handle chit funds, so our desks are usually covered in papers and receipt books. We have some old wooden benches for people to sit on while they are waiting their turn. The ceiling fans stay on all day because it gets quite humid here. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most of our members come to us because they live nearby or their family has been with us before. We know most of our customers by their first names. Every morning we open the shutters and start by checking the collections from the day before. It is a lot of routine work, but we do not mind it. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the stall down the road. It is a simple life and a simple business. We try to be careful with our records since everyone’s money is involved. We just keep our heads down and do the job that needs to be done. It has worked for us so far and we keep going.
